Good to know about MOV
- An iPhone set to High Efficiency records HEVC (H.265). Windows often cannot play it without an extra extension, while MP4 with H.264 just works.
- The YouTube preset keeps quality high, up to 1080p. If you need a smaller file, pick a platform or a custom size.
- A MOV that already has H.264 at a sensible bitrate is just repackaged into MP4. That takes seconds and loses no quality.

Aren't MOV and MP4 the same thing?
They are two different containers. They often hold the same picture, but MP4 is supported by more apps, sites and devices.
Will converting lower the quality?
